Bulawayo Connect is an independent digital city platform for finding useful local stories, places, businesses, events, organisations and opportunities.
What we are building
Stories provide context. Structured city information helps people act. Bulawayo Connect joins the two so a guide can lead to a Place, an Event can lead to its venue and an Opportunity can lead to the organisation behind it.
Independent by design
Bulawayo Connect is not Bulawayo City Council, a government service or a political organisation. We use a civic information style because clarity matters, not because the platform is an official municipal portal.
How trust works
We link to primary sources, show update information where practical and provide a corrections route. Listings are not endorsements. Users should confirm time-sensitive information with the responsible organisation.
Independent, useful and open to correction
Bulawayo Connect is a privately run independent city platform. It is not Bulawayo City Council, a government department or an official tourism authority. The purpose is to connect stories with practical city information so that readers can move from understanding to action.
Editorial inclusion is based on relevance, public value and the information available for verification. Advertising helps support the platform but does not buy favourable coverage, remove criticism or guarantee directory inclusion. Paid placements are labelled.
We prefer first-party and institutional sources for dates, addresses and applications, while recognising that local knowledge is often carried through people and smaller organisations. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, we either state the uncertainty or leave it out.
This is a growing platform. Residents, businesses, organisations and diaspora readers can submit additions and corrections. The final publishing decision remains with Bulawayo Connect so that profiles stay consistent and readable.
